Alnmouth Arts Festival - 18th & 19th June

I'll be showing at Alnmouth Arts Festival again this year so I am hoping I will see lots of familiar faces and lots of new ones.
Alnmouth has become such a big event in my calender. Its an event I really look forward to because I think it is quite unique. The atmosphere that is generated by a whole village coming together to host an event like this is something great to be part of.
I always try to have some new pieces to show , and this year I have glass pieces based on the theme of" Hares."

Its great that  one of the bigger pieces I have made has already been sold but I'm not sure I have enough time to make another piece. Luckily the people that have bought my piece are letting me keep it to show at Alnmouth, and I do plan to make a series of these "Hare" pieces.

I have also made some smaller pieces called "Luna Hare" which you can see below. I love hares, they are such beautiful, wild creatures and I like the whole folklore thing around them where they are associated with witches. These will be sold at Alnmouth but you can also buy them from my new online shop

Getting back to Alnmouth, there are also this year a number of new artists taking part, especially print makers. I feel it is vitally important that Alnmouth attracts new artists to take part keeping the whole festival fresh and interesting. Another newbie is my friend Julie Brown King who is a ceramicist. She will be displaying her work in one of the marquees this year, you can find her on facebook.

So lets keep our fingers crossed for good weather and I will see you at Alnmouth , Saturday and Sunday. I will be in my usual spot, a beautiful summer house belonging to my friend and artist Sue Waters. To get there all you need to do is walk past the Hope and Anchor pub on your left then take the first left. Walk up the little hill and at the top you will spot me sitting in the summer house with all my glass work..
